Manufacture of bamboo based activated carbon for electric double layer capacitor by microwave radiation

Activated carbon for electric double layer capacitors was prepared from bamboo by activation with KOH through heating by microwave radiation.The influence of the power of microwave radiation was studied.Its charge-discharge performance of the bamboo based AC EDLC was researched,too.It showed that the specific capacitance of bamboo based AC could reach 244.2 F/g while the ratio of KOH to bamboo was 2∶1 and the power and radiation time of microwave were 720 W and 15 minutes respectively.Moreover,it showed good stability.
