Study on an efficient catalyst for the hydrogenation of p-chloronitrobenzene

Supported Ru-Pd / AC bimetallic catalyst was prepared by impregnation and its catalytic performances for the hydrogenation of p-chloronitrobenzene( p-CNB) to p-chloroaniline( p-CAN) were researched,and the effects were investigated about catalyst activity composition,reaction temperature,catalyst amount,H2 pressure for the hydrogenation reaction. The experimental results show that the conversion of p-chloronitrobenzene is more than 99. 0%,and selectivity to p-chloroaniline can reach98. 4% under optimal conditions. After the catalyst is reused for 5 times,the activity and selectivity of catalyst have not significantly decreasing.
