Objective To study the chemical constituents of Smilax davidiana.Methods The compounds were extracted with 60% alcohol,isolated by repeated column chromotography on macroporous adsorptive resins SP825,Sephadex LH-20,silica gel,ODS and preparative HPLC,and their structures were elucidated by the spectroscopic methods.Results Twelve compounds were isolated and identified as resveratrol(Ⅰ),trans-resveratrol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅱ),cis-resveratrol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅲ),quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside(Ⅳ),3'-methoxyl-quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside(Ⅴ),catechin(Ⅵ),epicatechin(Ⅶ),1'-O-benzyl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅷ),1'-O-phenethyl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅸ),1'-O-phenethyl-β-D-apiofuranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅹ),2,4,6-trihydroxy-acetophenone-2,4-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅺ),and 3-methyl-butanol-1-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyransoide(ⅩⅡ).Conclusion Compounds Ⅴ,Ⅷ—Ⅹ,and ⅩⅡ are obtained from the plants of Smilax L.for the first time,and compounds Ⅰ—Ⅳ,Ⅵ,Ⅶ,and Ⅺ are isolated from S.davidiana for the first time.
