Comparative analysis of different types of electrical motor as a part of traction drive in electrical transmission

This article gives a comparative analysis of different types of traction electric motor. This analysis allows to choose the most appropriate electric motor for serial hybrid vehicle. This article based on literature review and comparison of the characteristic of the for types of electric motor: DC motor, asynchronous motor with squirrel cage rotor, synchronous motor with permanent magnet and switch reluctance motor. Conclusion is that the switched reluctance motor is more suitable in using as a part of traction engine electrical transmission of vehicle.
