Assessment of dental implant osseointegration from nonlinear dynamic response

Describes a new hand-held instrument which quantifies the osseointegration of dental implants by exploiting nonlinearities in the dynamic response of the implant-bone system. The technique provides a basis for unambiguous identification of failed implants, and for longitudinal monitoring of implant stability.
