摘要
Introduction and purpose: This study was planned to compare kinesophobia and physical activity (PA) levels in individuals with COPD at different phenotypes. Method: 118 individuals with COPD and 45 individuals who were asymptomatic. Participants were separated into 4 groups according to COPD phenotypes: Group A: Individuals with no respiratory problems (n=11); Group B: Individuals with slight respiratory problems (n=26); Group C: Individuals with mild respiratory problems (n=32); Group D: Individuals with severe respiratory problems (n=49); and Control Group (n=45). After socio-demographic data were taken, Tampa Kinesophobia Scale was used for kinesophobia, and International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used for PA levels. Findings: The age and BMI were (51.45±12.61 year, 29.30±3.47 kg/m2) for Group A; (57.88±11.84 year, 25.28±3.99 kg/m2) for Group B; (59.32±12.98 year, 27.73±4.32 kg/m2) for Group C,(63.77±11.08 year, 26.60±6,85 kg/m2) for Group D, (43.40±12.93 year, 26.60±4.50 kg/m2) for Control Group, respectively. Mean kinesophobia score was highest in Group D, and lowest in Control Group (p<0,05). No differences were determined between Group A, Group B and Group C (p>0,05). When IPAQ scores were compared between groups, the score of Group D was found to be lowest (p<0,05). No differences were determined between Group A and Group C, and the difference between the Controls and Group A was significant (p<0,05). Discussion and result: As the severity of disease increased in individuals with COPD, the kinesophobia and PA levels were affected negatively. To sustain daily-life activities in an independent manner, gaining PA habit is important to decrease kinesophobia.
