Microwave discharge theory for the microwave ion source

This article is about physical foundation of the microwave plasma ion source. The expressions to describe some physical regulations are given. The results show that the source is operated in the optimum state under the condition of electron cyclotron resonance (ωz=ω). This theory can also be applied to the microwave plasma cathode.
