SONIC METHOD FOR DETERMINING YOUNG'S MODULUS OF ELASTICITY*

A bstract The instrument and methods for measuring the resonant frequencies of brick and for calculating Young's modulus of elasticity are described. Charts correlate elasticity and other properties of fired brick with firing temperatures. Results indicate that the sonic method of determining the modulus of elasticity is suitable for determining the degree of firing that a series of brick has undergone.
