The catalytic performance of Ni-based catalyst modified with La in the combined air partial oxidation and CO_(2)-H_(2)O_( )reforming of coal-bed methane to syngas was studied in a fixed-bed reactor. The effects of reaction conditions such as temperature, pressure and space velocity, and the feedstock compositions were mainly investigated. The results showed that coal-bed methane can be used directly as feedstock and be converted to syngas with required H_(2)/CO ratio through flexible technology. About 96.8% of CH_(4) conversion and H_(2)/CO ratio of 2.0 were obtained at 800 ℃, and a CH_(4 )GHSV of 1.0×10~(4)h~(-1), atmospheric pressure, using a feed gas mixture with the composition of n(CH_(4))∶n(CO_(2))∶n(Air)∶n(H_(2)O)=1.0∶0.2∶1.9∶0.4 (mole ratio).
