Intermediate N-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-N,N-dimethyldodecylammonium chloride was synthesized with N,N-dimethyldodecylamine hydrochloride and epichlorohydrin as raw materials.The intermediate was used to react with N-vinylimidazole to form a gemini quaternary ammonium salt surfactant that can be polymerized.Effects of molar ratio of reactants,reaction temperature and reaction time on the yield of the target product were studied.The results indicated that the optimum conditions were as follows:n(VI):n(intermediate)=1.2:1,reaction temperature 80 ℃ for 12 h.Yield of the target product achieves 81.2%.The product structure was characterized by IR,MS and 1HNMR.
