Spatial Pattern Analysis of Cultivated Land Conversion in the Coastal Area of Pearl River Estuary Based on RS

This paper analyzed the spatial pattern of cultivated land conversion in Dongguan based on RS technology.The results showed that the cultivated land area reduced rapidly under the pressure of urban expansion,and it was the main period of the cultivated land to reduce from 1988 to 1995,and more than 70 percent of cultivated land was converted to construction sites.Other types of lands also were converted to the cultivated land,which waters and the forestland were the major types.
