A novel cage-shaped molybdophosphate supermolecular compound,〔NH 3(CH 2) 6NH 3〕 7〔NH 3(CH 2) 2NH 3〕 2(H 3O) 6〔P 2Mo 5O 23 〕 4·11H 2O has been synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized by elemental analysis,IR spectrum,and singel crystal x-ray structure analysis.The crystals are triclinic with space group p1,The result of structure analysis shows that each of the four 〔P 2Mo 5O 23 〕 6- of the heteropoly anion consists of five MoO 6 octahedra and two PO 4 tetrahedron,and Mo,P atoms in each of the four 〔P 2Mo 5O 23 〕 6- structures show a distored pentagonal bipyramidal configuration.
