This paper presents a new type of Fiber Bragg grating pressure sensor on theoretic basis. Thanks to its strain sensing characteristics, FBG is pasted to the C-pressure elastic tube in a specific location, and pressure is measured according to the changes of FBG reflected wavelength. The experimental and theoretical values of the sensor sensitivity are respectively 0.671 and 0.791. The good linearity and small hysteresis of this type of sensor displays high potential for further development.
