Sclerotherapy for 45 patients of cirrhosis combined with esophageal varices by endoscope

Objective To study the efficacy of endoscopic sclerotherapy for esophageal varices.Methods The esophageal varices of 45 cases with cirrhotic patients were treated by endoscopic sclerotherapy with non-water ethanol totalling 96 times.Results The bleeding of 28 cases (93.3%) was stopped by emergency sclerotherapy in 30 patients with bleeding,no efficacy in 2 cases (6.7%).15 were treated by preventing sclerotherapy.In all cases,general effective rate was 91.1% (41 cases),with no efficacy of 4 cases(8.9%).Conclusion The endoscopic scleraotherapy by non-water ethanol for esophageal varices with low price,clear part view can be widely applied.
