Regulation of growth and developmental processes in plants is attributed to plant growth regulators. These are both directly as well as indirectly involved in different types of stress responses as well as regulation of signaling networks. Salicylic acid (SA) has been found to play an important part in life of a plant in conjugation with other growth regulators. SA was first isolated from willow bark and it is a phenolic compound, containing seven carbons, which is synthesized endogenously in plants. It has been found to be present ubiquitously among plant kingdom and its role in growth and flowering and against various abiotic and biotic stresses have been highlighted through various studies.
