Carbon engineering for sodium batteries: multi-role architectures bridging material design and hybrid system innovation

Intrinsic and extrinsic factors of carbon determine Na storage. This review compares their roles across four Na battery systems, establishes a structure–performance–function framework, and proposes a hybrid Na battery design.
