GREEN TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION, LOCAL MARKET SIZE AND CHINA’S MANUFACTURING EXPORT RESILIENCE: THE MODERATING ROLE OF ENVIRONMENTAL ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTIES

This research constructs a moderated mediation model to empirically investigate the impact of green technology innovation on the resilience of regional manufacturing exports in the face of external shocks. We find that Green technology innovation contributes to enhancing regional manufacturing export resilience, with a more pronounced effect on coastal regions and high-marketization-level regions. Mechanism test shows that green technology innovation can enhance regional manufacturing export resilience by expanding the local market size. Further research reveals that environmental administrative penalties can strengthen the positive effect of green technology innovation on the resilience of regional manufacturing exports, and promote the expansion of green technology innovation in the local market size.
