PROPERTIES AND HANDLING PROCEDURES FOR RUBIDIUM AND CESIUM METALS

Properties of rubidium and cesium are compared with those of other alkali metals. Methods for the preparation of rubidium and cesium metal are reviewed briefly, and hazards and safety precautions required in handling rubidium and cesium metal are described. Simple methods for handling laboratory quantities of elemental rubidium and cesium under oil or argon are illustrated. (auth)
