摘要
This report reviews the potential environmental hazard from the commercial use of chlorinated paraffins. Chlorinated paraffins, in most cases, contain 10 to 30 carbon atoms and a chlorine content of 40 to 70%. They are used as lubricating oil additives, secondary plasticizers, and flame retardants. Information on physical and chemical properties, production methods and quantities, commercial uses and factors affecting environmental contamination, as well as information related to health and biological effects, are reviewed.
