The method of shifting the critical micelle concentration of surfactants in aqueous solutions under the effect of actually dissolved hydrophobic additives was used to show that the solubility of perfluorodecalin and perfluorotributylamine in water at 293 K does not exceed 2 times 10/sup -4/ M. The increment of the standard chemical potential of the passage of the perfluoromethylene group from water to the organic perfluoroliquid was estimated based on precision tensiometric measurements of aqueous solutions of perfluorononanoic acid at the interface with perfluorodecalin at 293 K and the solubility of perfluorodecalin and a series of perfluorohydrocarbons with a normal chain (C/sub 6/-C/sub 12/) was determined.
