Simplified Syntheses of Transition Metal -Tetraarylporphyrins

A series of metalloporphyrins has been synthesized with Fe, Co or Ni as central ion and -Tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP), -Tetra-(p-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin (TMPP), -Tetra-(p-chloro)porphyrin (TCPP), and -Tetra-(4-N-pyridyl)porphyrin (TPyP) as chelating ligand. Special attention was paid to keep the preparations simple and convenient. A set of UV-vis data for all porphyrins used in this article is provided.
