The diversity of the basic pathophysiology of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) leads to different degrees of variation of CRS; in addition, the lack of understanding of the disease subpopulation mechanism makes treatment of CRS very difficult. Therefore, further research on the endotype of CRS will help clarify the etiology of CRS and provide reference for the treatment of CRS so as to obtain more effective treatment effects. This article reviews the clinical phenotype of CRS based on with or without nasal polyps, five endotypes based on eosinophils and neutrophils, Th cells and factors, ILC2s, IgE and leukotriene pathways, and discusses CRS relationship with AERD and asthma endotype.
