Objective:To compare the cytotoxicity of cisplatin and carboplatin against gastric cancer cell lines in vitro and provide reference for chemotherapy in clinical practice. Methods:The MTT assay was used to show the percentage inhibition of cell growth and the 50% inhibitory concentration (IC 50 ) at various exposure periods and concentrations. Results:The percentage of inhibition of cell growth by cisplatin was higher than that by carboplatin, and the IC 50 value of cisplatin was far less. Conclusion:Cisplatin was more cytotoxic than carboplatin against gastric call lines in vitro.
