The Status and Protection Strategy of Farmland Soils Polluted By Heavy Metals

The increasing heavy metal pollution of farmland soils has caused the severe deterioration of food quality and people health. In this paper, the status and sources of heavy metals pollution in farmland soils were investigated followed with the analysis of present policies to protect soils in China. Likewise, the policies of soil protection in other countries were also summarized. Finally, the prevention strategy of farmland soils from pollution was proposed, including regulations establishment of the prevention of farmland soil from pollution as well as treatment and management of polluted farmland soils.
