Effects of heat treatment and cryogenic treatment on wear resistance of hypereutectic and hypoeutectic high chromium cast irons(HCCIs) were studied. The results showed that hardness of the hypereutectic and hypoeutectic HCCI reached their maximum value after destabilization treatment at about 1 000 ℃.After cryogenically treated following the destabilization treatment, hardness of both the hypereutectic and hypoeutectic HCCI was obviously improved.Having relatively higher volume percentage of carbide, all hypereutectic HCCIs showed much higher relative wear resistance than hypoeutectic HCCI.
