Determination of Palmitic Acid and Stearic Acid in Stearic Acid by GC

A GC method was established for the determination of palmitic acid and stearic acid in stearic acid.Polyethylene glycol was used as the stationary phase with temperature-programmed process at injector temperature of 250 ℃ and detector temperature of 260 ℃.The split ratio was 30:1 with nitrogen as the carrier gas.The calibration curves of palmitic acid and stearic acid were linear in the concentration range of 0.5-4 mg/ml.The recoveries were 100.3% and 100.2%,with RSDs of 0.9%.
