Three Generations of Addiction: Who is Colluding?

This article deals with a highly resistant addictive family where food, alcohol and drugs have been a way to avoid painful separation for three generations. The family was involved in therapy for two years before the addictions could even be addressed and the question was raised whether such a strong family legacy could be changed. Some hypotheses are suggested about the systemic involvement of addiction from generation to generation and specific treatment issues were considered.
