Improved hierarchical routing protocol based on clustering in wireless sensor networks

Sensor network is a novel technology about acquiring and processing information,usually deployed in hostile environments.So power supply is one of the most important issues for WSN research.Hierarchical routing protocol,which can effectively increase the network lifetime,has become an open research area in wireless sensor networks.A novel hierarchical routing protocol MHLAH,which combines the advantages of LEACH and HeeD,is presented.MHLAH can distribute the cluster heads reasonably and the use of multi-hop routing transfer protocol extends the network lifetime.The simulation results demonstrate that MHLAH algorithm can balance the power consumption of sensor node effectively,and provide longer network lifetime than LEACH and HeeD.
