New technologies and advances in heat transfer enhancement

In this paper,the concept,classification and development of heat-transfer enhancement technologies were introduced.New technologies for heat transfer enhancement developed in recent years were summarized,e.g.the application of new materials and working fluids in heat transfer enhancement,and the application of new type intensified heat-exchange tubes and tube inserts.A key-point discussion on new materials and working substances for heat transfer enhancement,inclusive of metallic cellular materials,low-melting-point liquid metals and nanofluids,was carried out.In addition,the present situation and problems arising from the practical application of heat transfer enhancement technologies in China were analyzed.
