Flocculation for Improvement of Settleability of Sludge from the Final Clarifier

Flocculation was used to improve the settleability of sludge from final clarifier.The study indicates that the new type cationic polymeric flocculant (CPF) is much more effective than PAM and Al_2(SO_4)_3.When pH is 7.2 and CPF dosage is 0.46% of dry sludge weight,SVI value is (42.9)% less than that without addition of flocculant.Under the conditions of low strength mixing,temperature rising,and neutral or weak acid pH,the improvement of CPF for sludge settleability is enhanced.
