Progress of nasal acoustic reflex and rhinomanometrybefore and after nasal endoscopic surgery

There is no objective unified standard and quantitative indicators for the evaluation of ventilatory function before and after nasal endoscopic surgery, which leads to the inconsistency in examination results and the subjective evaluation of the degree of nasal congestion. Acoustic rhinometry(AR) and rhinomanometry(RMM) are the most common methods for objective assessment of nasal ventilation. The nasal morphology can be determined and the narrowest portion of the nasal cavity can be determined. Therefore, this article reviews the rhinomanometry and acoustic rhinometryassessment before and after nasal endoscopic surgery, and clarifies the value of this examination in the evaluation of nasal surgery.
