A general approach to 2,2-disubstituted indoxyls: total synthesis of brevianamide A and trigonoliimine C

A general, user-friendly approach to 2,2-disubstituted indoxyls is presented. The method is particularly useful for the preparation of 2,2-dialkylindoxyl products, and is applied to concise total syntheses of brevianamide A and trigonoliimine C.
