ABSTRACT This article surveys Dickens scholarship published in 2023, arranged using the following headings: (1) death and necroeconomics; (2) prison and slavery; (3) inspirations; (4) narrative, structure, and genre; (5) uses and transformations of Dickens and his texts; (6) audiences and their gaze; (7) biography; (8) Dickens’s contemporary world; (9) place/space; (10) physical objects and materiality; (11) physical senses and bodily health; (12) psychology and psychoanalysis; (13) groups; (14) alone/together; (15) time; and (16) pedagogy and education. The article then includes a brief discussion on Natalie McKnight’s Dickens Studies Annual interview with the late Michael Hollington.
