摘要
The ReFeO3 compounds belong to non-collinear antiferromagnet with unique magnetic properties. A series of outstanding achievement about ultrafast opto-magnetism on rare-earth orthoferrites crystals have been reported since 2004, including ultrafast laser-induced spin reorientation phase transition and its coherent control by a single laser pulse. Ultrafast laser-induced spin reorientation phase transition is expected to have high impact on the development of novel devices based on ultrafast control of magnetic state of matter. As the continuous progress of THz technology, ultrafast optical modification of exchange interactions based on ReFeO3 single crystal will be significant to fundamental research in magnetism. In this paper, combined our investigation with international investigations on ReFeO3 crystal growth and ultrafast opto-magnetism, the authors introduce on the progress of ultrafast opto-magnetism in ReFeO3 crystals. Based on them, we make a perspective on ReFeO3 crystal growth and application.
