Analysis on Discourse Cohesion in Business English Translation: Taking the English-Chinese Translation of International Trade Practice as An Example

Explicit cohesive devices can be realized through grammatical cohesion and lexical cohesion. Through the analysis of cohesive devices, the original text can be better understood. Whether in the process of understanding the original text or translating, discourse cohesion plays an important role. This paper will shift from the study of cohesive devices in monolingual discourse to the comparative study of bilingual discourse to analyze the differences between English and Chinese textual cohesion, taking the English textbook for business English majors: Li Dapeng's International Trade Practice and its translation as the research object. Through the comparative study of the source text and the target text, this paper discusses the application of discourse cohesion in the English-Chinese translation, and tries to provide guidance for translation.
