WHAT DOES LOONG (龙) MEAN TO THE CHINESE PEOPLE? A CULTURAL COGNITIVE LINGUISTIC PERSPECTIVE

This present study discusses the mythology of Loong in Chinese culture, analyzes the cultural metaphors of Loong, and elaborates on the cultural values of Loong. Through the discussion, it can be seen that the Chinese cultural values of Loong have a profound influence on cultural conceptualizations of Loong, not only manifested in language but also in many other aspects.
