Our measurements were made on one sample of insulation and five samples of wood. Initially, the samples were moistened in distilled water, until the mass of each sample remained constant and reached a degree of saturation. The samples were then dried to constant mass. During the drying process, the mass of the samples was continuously determined. We found that the duration of the drying process is significantly dependent on the structural characteristics of biological material. During the drying, nonlinear time dependences for mass, moisture content dry basis, and moisture ratio of the samples were identified. These dependences can be best described by a polynomial function of the third degree.
