摘要
Titanium alloys are widely used in high precision fields due to their excellent physical and chemical properties. However, titanium alloys exhibit poor machinability and are prone to tool wear and tear during processing, thereby resulting in low service life. Recent studies have indicated that it is possible to reduce the friction and wear between two contact surfaces by placing a micro-texture on the smooth surface. Nevertheless, there is a lack of research on the mechanism of friction reduction and wear resistance of micro-texture. With respect to YG8 and Ti6Al4V, which are commonly used in high-precision cutting, different types of micro-textures are placed on the YG8 surface. The friction and wear processes of YG8 disc specimen and Ti6Al4V ball specimen are simulated and experimented, and the results indicate that the micro-pit texture exhibits the best antifriction and anti-wear properties. Single-factor experiments were performed on different texture parameters of micro-pits, and the effects of micro-pit diameter, micro-pit spacing and micro-pit depth on friction reduction and anti-wear properties of micro-pit texture were obtained. Finally, the anti-wear and anti-friction mechanism of the micro-pit texture was obtained by combining the experimental results with the energy spectrum analysis of ball and disc specimens.
