摘要
Abstract A hardware‐controlled multiwindow display is one multiwindow display scheme which makes high‐speed display possible. However, the locations of the windows for an overlapping display are restricted due to limits on the access speed of the window buffer which is storing the window image. In order to deal with this problem, this paper considers a system with a buffer for speed adjustment. A display device was constructed based on the proposed concept, and its performance was evaluated. As a result, for the cases of one and nine windows, 21 times and 147 times faster manipulation rates, respectively, were realized in manipulations such as window shifting, as compared with a software‐controlled window display. In order to examine the effect of window manipulation on drawing performance, the drawing time was measured for cases with window manipulation and without it. As a result, it was shown that there is no significant difference in the processing time, and it was verified that the drawing performance is not degraded by window manipulation.
