摘要
In this work, we report the establishment of a greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory for the Global Campus of Gachon University. In 2016, the GHG emissions of Global Campus at Gachon University is found to amount to 11298.42 tCO2-eq, to which the purchased power consumption in Scope 2 makes the highest contribution that is equivalent to 72% of the total emissions. In addition, analyses of optimization and economic feasibility on introduction of two different systems for the potential GHG reduction, such as solar cell systems and light-emitting diode (LED) replacement, have demonstrated both the potential quantity of GHG reduction and the net present value (NPV), which correspond to 2,362.49 tCO2-eq and ca. 8,400 M won for the former, and 1,477.03 tCO2-eq and ca. 570 M won for the latter (in case of 100% replacement), respectively, resulting in the total GHG reduction of 3,839.52 tCO2-eq. This quantity is equivalent to the GHG decrease of 40.29% compared to the baseline emission as of the year of 2030.
