摘要
A filtration-basin is the most essential component to remove fine particles in water purification process. This study conducted a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis based on Building Information Modeling (BIM), to estimate flow distribution in the inflow distribution channel of the filtration-basin. The BIM model was prepared based on the preliminary construction design draft drawings, and a CFD analysis model was created from the BIM model. The distribution rate of the distribution channel currently operating within the filtration-basin was reviewed. To find the optimal operation method that ensures equal distribution of each filtration-basin, CFD analysis was carried out to compare the adjustment methods of opening the ratio of the butterfly valve and adjusting the height of the stainless steel (STS) plate, using Autodesk CFD software. The CFD analysis revealed that the STS plate method was more efficient at inducing equal distribution rates than the method of opening the ratio of the butterfly valve.
