Generalized Integral Transformations

The author states in the preface: "The subject of this book arises from the confluence of two mathematical disciplines, the theory of integral transformations and the theory of generalized functions." Both these disciplines are of considerable importance to the physicist: generalized functions as impulse functions and in connection with discontinuous waves and similar phenomena; and integral transformations both for their own sake, as in the representation of wave forms as the superposition of plane waves (Fourier transforms) or cylindrical waves (Hankel and related transforms), and as tools for the solution of mathematical problems arising in physics.
