Taking the control of Qingcaobei landslide in Three Gorges Reservoir Area for example,the paper introduces the characteristics and the formation mechanism of the landslide.Based on the description of the properties of the slipping surfaces within the landslide body and the structure of multi-level sliding surfaces,such measures as cantilever-piles for supporting sliding body and surface drainage at the surface of the landslide have been put forward to improve the stability of the landslide body so that the controlling project has been carried out smoothly.
