Determination of Residues of Sulfur Dioxide in Food by Chemiluminescence Reaction of Luminol

A new method for the determination of sulfur dioxide residues in food was established.With luminol as the luminescence agent,oxygen in the air as the oxidant,sulfite as the sensitization agent and cobalt sulfate as the catalyst of luminal-air-sufite chemiluminescence system,through the change of the total strength of the light after adding sulfite in the system,the concentration of sulphite can be determined.This method can accurately measure the residues of sulfur dioxide in dried fruit and dried vegetable.
