Clinical influence of three-step convalescence system on functional recoveries after cerebral damage

Objective To investigate the influence of three-step convalescence system on neural functional defect,motor function and life quality so as to frame the best convalescence approach to the patients with cerebral damage. Methods A total of 94 cerebral damage patients with hemiplegy were divided into three-step convalescence group and control group. The former group began to receive recovery treatment at early stage as soon as their condition had become stable,continued to receive convalescence treatment in our sanatorium at convalescence stage,and went on with continued convalescence treatment in community or at home at maintaining stage. The latter group received convalescence treatment in our sanatorium at convalescence stage,and went on with convalescence treatment at home at maintaining stage. Both the two groups were measured neural functional defect,motor function and daily life ability,respectively at the beginning,at the 2nd-,6th-and 10th weekend,and at the 6th month end. Results Although there was no significant differences in neural functional defect scoring, motor function and daily life ability at the beginning and 2nd weekend,the treatment outcome of the three-step convalescence group was statistically better than that of the control group at the 6th-and 10th weekend,and at the 6th month end. Conclusions Three-step convalescence system helps to reduce the neural functional defect,promote the motor functional recovery,and improve the daily life ability and the survival quality of patients with cerebral damage.
