Development of Epichlorohydrin Production from Glycerol

With the rapid development of biodiesel in recent years,more attention has been focused on the synthesis of epichlorohydrin from glycerol,which is the by-product of biodiesel.The research development and technology of epichlorohydrin was reviewed in this paper.The preparation technology of epichlorohydrin from glycerol was discussed in detail.The effects of reactors and catalysts on the yield of epichlorohydrin were evaluated,and the further research on the improvement of reactors was presented.
