Study on inhibitory effects of herbal extracts against Monilinia fructicola

Agar plate tests was conducted to test the inhibitory effects in-vitro of herbal extracts Pyrolin,Coptis chinensis Franch,Phellodendronchinense Schneid and Magnolia officinalis Rehd against Monilinia fructicola in order to search the new type natural antisepic agent.The MIC were 0.032,0.625,0.625,1.25mg/mL and the MBC were 0.125,2.5,5,2.5mg/mL.By line regression,50% of effective concentration(EC50) of herbal extracts were 0.065,0.192,0.687,0.246mg/mL respectively.According to EC50,the five ratios were determined by the evidence of six equal-part points of additive action line,and synergism was judged by the method of co-toxicity factor.The result showed that the plant extracts of Coptis chinensis Franch and Phellodendronchinense Schneid with combined ratio of 1∶7 was the best mixtures for controlling M.fructicola.
