Uncooled IR imager has broad application prospects in military, civilian and other fields due to its advantages such as small size, low power consumption, and low cost. It detects the infrared radiation of external objects, undergoes a conversion process of "light-heat-electricity", and finally outputs image information. It is found that when there are high temperature targets such as the sun in the field of view, the image will show the phenomenon of high temperature burns in application. Firstly, this article analyzes the principle of uncooled IR imager. Secondly, by simulating and calculating the sun radiation energy, the irradiance of the sun reaching at the pixel is about 7500 W / m2. To protect the detector, the radiation energy must be reduced to about 30%. Finally, a new protective mechanism is proposed to address the issues with the current protective technologies used, and the effectiveness of the protective measures was verified through experiments.
