摘要
This work proposes class activities to promote opportunities for hands-on chemistry lab and intercultural communication experiences at low to no cost. As a model, a project has been carried out for 3 years between two high school chemistry classes in the USA and Thailand. The main objectives are to use green chemistry strategies to introduce chemical safety awareness and to overcome the limitation of low budget for science laboratory instruction without compromising the teaching quality. This project also gives younger aged students and their teachers a taste of international collaboration without a financial burden. Examples of activities and class management presented here can be adapted for use in other STEM classes.
