Visible-light-driven, catalyst-free intramolecular crossed and straight [2 + 2] cycloaddition

Crossed and straight [2 + 2] cycloaddition with visible light as the sole requirement has been developed, and two kinds of complex molecules were formed. Detailed mechanistic investigations explored the unprecedented rule-breaking regioselectivity.
